Security: Are You Missing A Piece?
Security for your business wasn’t always so challenging. Simply add a firewall to protect the environment and be done.
Security today has become more complicated. Users are now consuming services on the enterprise network and while roaming out on the Internet. Security often seems like it has become a one thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle. If just one piece is missing, the cybercriminals will find it and exploit the hole.
You may be using multiple vendors with many products to provide a complete security solution for all your users. Cisco would like to help you simplify that approach, while providing the best security solutions. What is Cisco doing to help you add all the “missing pieces” to your security posture?
Security solutions need to be robust, yet easy to manage and operate. One of Cisco’s latest firewall offerings is the 3100 series of firewalls. The Cisco Secure Firewall 3100 series supports a high bandwidth throughput with the ability to be managed from the cloud. The entry model is the Cisco Secure Firewall 3105, which supports 10G, 7G of IPSec, and up to 3000 VPN peers. Cisco has worked hard to address lead time issues allowing these 3100 firewalls to be more widely available. These firewalls can run either the traditional Cisco ASA software or the newer Cisco FTD (Firewall Threat Defense) software. Whether you run the Cisco ASA or FTD software, the firewalls are manageable from the Cisco Defense Orchestrator cloud. The firewalls can be configured, managed, and maintained from one cloud console.
The Cisco Secure Firewall can be physical hardware and deployed in a virtual environment, or the public cloud. No matter where you need to provide deep network traffic security, the Cisco Secure Firewall can be installed and managed. The Cisco Secure Firewall integrates with many different security solutions through the Cisco Secure Technology Alliance.
One product that integrates well with the Cisco Secure Firewall is Cisco Duo, for multiple-factor authentication. Cisco Duo is now offering passwordless authentication with support for biometrics. Since mobile devices have biometric capabilities, it makes sense to leverage them as an additional piece of protection for essential resources, especially during remote access. Using biometric data with Cisco Duo can also cut down on the user fatigue of having to track additional passwords and constant authentication prompts.
Cisco Umbrella also has been enhanced to be more than just a DNS-layer protection. Cisco Umbrella can provide cloud firewall protection for users regardless of location. Cisco Umbrella can also provide data loss protection for resources like Microsoft 365, Google Drive, and Cisco Webex.
Cisco is putting security at the forefront to ensure all the pieces are in place to protect an enterprise, while driving down the costs of operating and managing the solutions.
